A Day at CCMP

 

Session 1: One Week Camp

Want to know what your days will be like while attending CCMP?  Here’s the script!  The following is a sneak preview of a typical day at our music and arts camp.  Times and activities may change but the fun stays the same!

9:00 a.m.
Group Warm-up/ Discussion		 We start each day together with stretching and announcements as we get ready for the day’s classes and rehearsals.
9:30 a.m.
Chorus Call
ACT I		 Chorus Call focuses on ensemble singing. You practice your musical numbers for the camp finale, while getting special instruction in professional vocal techniques and music theory.
10:30 a.m.
Dance Call
ACT II		 Gotta dance? You bet! Learn various dance movements as you rehearse the dance routines and choreography for the finale musical production. You’ll even have a role in the staging of the dance numbers!
11:30 a.m.
Stage Door Canteen		 It’s lunchtime at CCMP. Time to eat, hang out, catch up on the backstage gossip, or maybe some karaoke fun!
12:00 p.m.
Gypsy Showcase Rehearsal		 The Gypsy Showcase Rehearsal is your time to create an original collaborative piece. You keep your work a secret from all the other groups, because at the end of the week you’re going to present your group’s four-minute musical presentation at the Gypsy Showcase—Which award will your group take home? *this activity is loads of fun but optional
12:30 p.m.
Chorus Call
ACT III		 Your intense vocal training continues.
1:45 p.m.
Intermission		 Break time! Grab a snack, stretch a bit and just generally chill out.
2:00 p.m.
Master Class, Dance Call or Final RehearsalACT IV		 Spend time with a guest artist, such as a musician, designer, dancer, make-up artist, or actor, and get an in-depth look at the art of their specific craft. Or…it’s back on your feet-time! This is where we put together the music and dialogue, and dance number for our Grand Finale. Everyone in the camp practices, as a company, everything you’ve learned during the week!
3:00 p.m.
End of the day		 Time to “Kiss the Day Good-bye” Just remember to get your rest… you’ve got a 9:00 curtain call tomorrow morning!

Session 2: Two Week Camp
